Brand new fractal for everyone to enjoy. I made this last weekend and wanted to post it then but two main factors kept me from doing so: I couldn't for the life of me think of a name, and the darn thing took 51 hours to render (poster size). I don't mind the wait though. I love the finished product and am always willing to wait.

For anyone who's interested or knows a bit about fractals, the only base formula used in this image was the Mandelbrot with the exception of a few layers of subtle textures to break up the smoothness. Some of you may recognize some features of the formula. I wanted to give myself a challenge and try to make a new fractal using a fairly standard formula. Coloring and shapes came from all sorts of other goodies in some of my favorite formulas but the Mandelbrot is at the core of this image.

If I've confused you, I apologize. It's been a long day!

Enjoy.

:+favlove: this looks awesome... I love the colors and it's very original too despite having the commonly-used mandelbrot as the base..

If I could make something like this, I'd happily wait 510 hours!

Yet another +fav from my corner.

Amazing how precise you have those forumlas to make something look that much like a tree. Awsome Job.
